Competition 2022

Brand new competition layout for 2022!


Years 7, 8,9,10 and L6 (Year 12) are all invited to enter the sustainability in fashion competition.

As young designers, we have a responsibility to think about the impact that we all have on our environment.

Produce and email the following:

  • One research page about ONE area of sustainability.

  • Produce a page of pattern and/or fabric samples linked to your chosen area of sustainability.

  • Produce FOUR OUTFIT designs for any occasion. Include aspects of your research and your fabric samples.

Email your THREE pages as JPG files for our judges to see! Submit by 27th May 2022. GOOD LUCK!

Please have year group and name included in the email subject and which centre you are applying to (south or midlands/north) please only apply to the centre closest to you, you may only apply once.

Winners from each year group will be announced in the summer term of 2022.


Year 11 and U6 (Year 13) are invited to enter three pieces of their coursework showing the judges the following:

  • One research/influences/inspiration/drawings page from your current project

  • One development page– samples, ideas, designs

  • One page showing your final design and photos of the final piece

Shortlist of finalists announced in the summer term of 2022, with a hope to have a face to face final in September/October 2022.


To Enter

To be in with a chance of winning a great prize and have your work showcased on our website please provide the following:

  1. On each of your pages include your name, school name and age category.

  2. Email your entry to your centre - a jpeg file for each page - 3 jpegs ONLY

  • South Centre: yfd@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk

  • Midlands Centre: yfd@rgsw.org.uk


Terms & Conditions

  • Apply to one centre only (your closest centre)

  • Send only THREE JPEG files, unfortunately we are unable to accept any more and it is with regret that entries with more than three files will not be considered. Unfortunately any other file type will not be considered due to formatting issues with entries including different file types.

  • Apply in the correct age category.

  • Ensure your name, school name and age category is visible one every page. Unfortunately we are not able to accept entries that do not include this as we will not be able to contact you. Your teacher is able to submit your entry on your behalf. Your parent is able to submit this on your behalf. For data protection we will not display your full name on our website. If you would rather not have your work displayed on the website please add this to the notes section on the registration form.
